Athensguide.com

The self-styled 'Athens Survival Guide' by Matt Barrett. A one stop, if very individualistic guide to the city. The site design is rather DIY, but some of the content is excellent.

OneWorld

Home page of the oneworld holiday site. Athens coverage includes taxi and subway systems, along with other useful details such as embassy addresses.

Dilos.com

A fair amount of city coverage. Not worth bothering with the sightseeing pages. Several dozen links to more up-market hotels.

Vacation

Plous S.A. Reasonable - if very basic - sightseeing information, but can only muster one hotel recommendation.

Medievolic.com

An online photographic tour of Athens. The pages are slow to load, but the site has merit as the pics include later buildings that fall outside the remit of the Ancient City/Indiana.edu site above.

Ancient City

This 'Ancient City of Athens' site is a superb photographic archive of the archaeological and architectural remains of ancient Athens. It is intended primarily as a resource for students of classical art & archaeology at Indiana University and as a source of images for use in term papers, projects, and presentations. This doesn't stop the rest of us enjoying some pretty comprehensive online sightseeing.

Ministry of Culture

The ministry of culture site. Home page has an excellent hot-spot map(described as a 'magic map' that will take you to pages for the various sites/museums in the city. These range from the Acropolis through to such bizarre attractions as a Gaz Factory founded in 1857.

Official Site of the 2004 Olympics

Showcase site for the next-but one Olympic games.

New Airport

A site promoting the new international airport. The 'Flash' movie version attempts to make you believe that you are coming into land with a series of aircraft decent seat-belt warning bells and then freezes. Not very reassuring.

New Metro

The official metro site. Sadly they are so busy pushing flash 'Flash' movies of moving metro trains in our direction that finding the useful stuff (i.e. a map of the metro system) is really difficult.

Weather.com

10-day forecast.

Yahoo

4-day weather forecast.
